How to Prepare for Your PDO Thread Lift

Total Anti-Aging & Wellness will give you specific instructions to follow before your treatment. However, it is usual for most people to avoid the following before their thread lift:

  • Retinol products

  • Blood-thinning medications

  • Smoking or tobacco one week before

  • Temporarily stop consuming fish, ginseng, ng, and vitamin E

  • High-intensity workouts at least two days before the procedure

PDO Thread Lift Aftercare*

After your thread lift procedure, you can expect to recover for the next two weeks. However, most restrictions and limitations are for the first 72 hours following the thread lift. People can expect to feel soreness and facial swelling immediately following treatment, but this should go away on its own within a week.

You will receive specific aftercare instructions from your provider. Some of the instructions may include:

  • Do not chew gum

  • Avoiding facial creams or make-up

  • Adopt a liquid diet or stick to very light meals

  • Avoid sweating by limiting exposure to sun and heat

  • Stop smoking or using tobacco products

  • Stop taking blood thinning medications

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the face

What to Expect During Your PDO Thread Lift Procedure

On the day of your thread lift, your face will be cleansed thoroughly to remove dirt and oils. Next, a numbing agent is applied to the treatment areas. Depending on your condition, a combination of local anesthetic and topical numbing cream can be used to ensure comfort during the treatment. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes for the numbing to take effect.

Next, a pen is used to mark the exact areas for treatment. Plotting out the thread lift placement for optimal results and minimizing the number of threads used is crucial.

During the threading, a thin hollow cannula that contains the thread is inserted into the skin’s subdermal layers. As the needle is removed, the thread grabs and repositions the skin’s loose tissues, lifting the skin and making it tighter.

The treatment time depends on the amount of work you need but typically lasts anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.
